of stuff. How big is your garage, how high are the ceilings, are the walls finished and painted, and what do you plan on doing in there (especially paint and bodywork) frinstance. Is there a reason you prefer 48" fixtures over 8'? I've got three 8' 2 bulb high output strips in a 25' x 25' garage (9' ceilings) that has been drywalled and painted white. The light is very good. Two 8" strips in a one car garage with finished walls, I'm guessing would be excellent. Some might say that's over doing it, but I like a lot of light. Just make sure that the bulbs are not covered by the garage door when it is up, so you don't lose illumination when the door is open. Here's a pic of half of my garage with the lights on. Kind of gives you an idea of how much light three paired 8' HOs put out.
